2025 USTA League National Regulations

Effective May 29, 2025

Major Regulation Changes for 2025

•  NTRP Dynamic Disqualification is enforced in all National Championship-advancing Mixed League divisions.

•  NTRP Dynamic Disqualification will be enforced for all National Championship-advancing Mixed League divisions.

•  Players must be 18 years or older to participate in USTA League.

Valid NTRP Ratings for 2025

•  Players 59 & Under: Ratings valid for 3 years.

•  Players 60 & Over: Ratings valid for 2 years.

•  Self-rated players must use their most recent valid rating.

•  TennisLink auto-removes expired ratings.

NTRP Dynamic Disqualification Rules

Not subject to disqualification:

•  Computer-rated (C)

•  Mixed Exclusive (M)

•  Tournament Exclusive (T)

Subject to disqualification:

•  Self-rated (S)

•  Appealed (A)

•  Disqualified (D)

Players promoted due to disqualification must immediately compete at the new level.

Matches Required for Championship Advancement

Retired matches count for advancement.

NTRP Rating System Overview

•  Official rating system for USTA League.

•  Ratings assigned through match results in leagues and select tournaments.

•  Self-rated players must follow guidelines.

•  Mixed-only players receive Mixed ratings unless they have a valid Computer (C) rating.

USTA League Structure

•  Organized by divisions, age groups, and NTRP levels:
     •  Adult: 18+, 40+, 55+, 65+
     •  Mixed: 18+, 40+

•  Formats include Singles and Doubles competitions.

Governance & Key Regulations

•  Governed by USTA League Regulations, Friend at Court, and The Code.

•  No waivers allowed except where specifically permitted.

•  Safe Play compliance mandatory.

•  Non-discrimination enforced.

Player Eligibility

•  Must be at least 18 years old.

•  Must have an active USTA membership.

•  Must agree to all USTA rules and waivers.

•  Self-rating required if no valid NTRP rating exists.

Progression & Championship Play

•  Players must meet match requirements for advancement.

•  Advancement allowed for eligible players only.

•  Detailed rules for substitutions, defaults, retirements, and tie-breaking procedures.
