2025 USTA Southern & USTA Georgia League Regulations
These regulations apply to all USTA League Tennis levels in the USTA Southern Section and Georgia. They cannot be altered by local or state league coordinators or committees.

Valid NTRP Ratings for 2025
• Players 59 & under: Computer ratings valid for 3 years.
• Players 60 & older: Ratings valid for 2 years.
• Players with Mixed, Tournament, or Automatic Appeal ratings must self-rate to play Adult leagues.
• Self-ratings are valid for 2 years or until replaced.
NTRP Dynamic Disqualification Rules
• Cannot be disqualified: Computer (C), Mixed (M), or Tournament (T) ratings.*
• Can be disqualified: Self-rated (S), Appealed (A), or Dynamic Disqualified (D) players.
• Players promoted via disqualification must immediately play at their new level.
• Some exceptions for Early Start Leagues apply.
Match Requirements for Championship Advancement
• Adult 65 & Over requires 1 local match to advance to State.
Major Regulation Changes for 2025
• National: Sections may impose penalties for full-team retirements/defaults.
• Southern: Players with appeals may finish local/state, but can’t advance to Nationals/Southern if over-level.
• Georgia: No major changes.
NTRP System Overview
• Defines player levels nationally.
• Ratings valid for 2-3 years depending on age.
• Self-rating guidelines provided.
• Year-end ratings calculated based on league and select tournament play.
• Mixed Division ratings only affect year-end rating if a player plays Mixed exclusively.
General League Rules
• Governing Documents: USTA Regulations, Friend at Court, The Code.
• No Waivers: Rules cannot be waived except where explicitly allowed.
• Safe Play Compliance: Required.
• Non-Discrimination: USTA prohibits all forms of discrimination.
• Age Groups & Levels: Organized by NTRP levels for Adults 18+, 40+, 55+, 65+, and Mixed.
Key Georgia-Specific Rules
• League Seasons: Up to 2 seasons per age group per year.
• Local Play Deadlines: Specific deadlines set for local season completion.
• Team Size Minimums: Vary by division and level.
• Roster Limits: Local Leagues may set limits.
• Area Teams: Must meet specific criteria for eligibility.
• Courts: Pickleball lines not allowed; blended lines permitted.
• Residency: No local play residency requirements except in some cases.
Eligibility Requirements
• Must be a USTA member in good standing.
• Must meet age and rating criteria.
• Players assume all risks of participation.
• Self-rated players must follow strict guidelines.
Participation Rules
• Can play on multiple teams in different NTRP levels within the same age group.
• Players may advance on more than one team if at different NTRP levels.
• Only one match per player per team match allowed.
• Special advancement rules for Adult 65 & Over.
Progression to Championships
• Local winners advance to State Championships.
• Minimum matches required for player eligibility.
• Wildcard and Area Team rules apply.
• Specific deadlines for states to complete championships.
