2025 Local Rules and Regulations
USTA SOUTHERN CRESCENT
League Year 2025 (June 1, 2024 – May 30, 2025)
THESE RULES MUST BE PRESENT AT ALL LEAGUE MATCHES
The purpose of USTA Southern Crescent Tennis League is to promote team tennis for men and women at established ratings of the National Tennis Rating Program (NTRP). Rules apply to all Southern Crescent Leagues except where specific language applicability is identified in bold type.
The Southern Crescent Tennis League agrees to the rules and regulations of the USTA National, USTA Southern, and USTA Georgia as published. In addition, the Southern Crescent Tennis League sets forth the following rules to apply locally:
Players acknowledge the risks of competitive tennis, assume these risks voluntarily, and release the USTA and host facilities from any claims of injury or property damage.
SECTION I: ELIGIBILITY
1. PLAYERS
• Players may play on more than one team within SCTA under certain conditions, including different NTRP levels and age groups.
2. TEAMS
• Teams must have enough players to field a full lineup plus 2 additional players.
• Teams must play at the level of their highest-rated player.
• Players can be added until the last regular match of the season.
3. FACILITIES
• Home courts must be identified and reserved by teams.
• Minimum of 2 courts required, with lights for evening matches.
• Must have a restroom and phone.
•. Facilities must be within Coweta, Clayton, Fayette, Henry, or Spalding counties.
SECTION II: TEAM CAPTAINS DUTIES
• Captains handle administrative affairs, rules compliance, and match arrangements.
• Captains must exchange lineups before matches and report scores on TennisLink.
• Official schedules are posted on TennisLink and www.ustasoutherncrescent.com.
MATCH FORMAT & RULES
• Matches must meet minimum play requirements to be valid.
• Home teams supply balls.
• Scoring and defaults follow detailed procedures.
• Options for third-set tiebreaks or full sets are available in some leagues.
• Rescheduling rules apply for inclement weather.
CHAMPIONSHIPS & QUALIFICATIONS
• Season champions determined by match wins; tiebreaks follow USTA procedures.
• Advancement rules for State Championships are detailed.
• Playoff matches cannot count toward advancement.
• Specific procedures are outlined for replacement teams and playoff conflicts.

FREQUENTLY ASKED COURT QUESTIONS
- Let Calls: Only players on the court may call lets for balls on their court.
- Injuries: Players get one 3-minute medical timeout per condition.
- Net Height: If no measure is available, play proceeds.
- Missing Center Strap: Players may refuse to play; no grievance allowed if they proceed.
- Court Safety: Any player can deem a court unplayable.
- ncorrect Line Call: Player corrects the call and loses the point (except for certain serve situations).
